Rental prices are surging across the New York–New Jersey metro area ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup Final at MetLife Stadium. Some Airbnb listings near the venue are topping $25,000 for a three-night stay. According to AirDNA, short-term rental bookings in Jersey City and Newark are nearly 300% higher than the same period last year. New York City has also seen bookings double for the final weekend. Jamie Lane, AirDNA’s Chief Economist, notes that although demand is up, significant rental inventory remains available. The region currently ranks among the most-booked of all 2026 World Cup host cities.

In that market (Jersey City/Newark), we’ve already seen about 1,200 nights booked for the two-day period around the World Cup final, which is almost 300% higher than what we saw at the same time last year for the same days
