The staycation bubble is bursting – but Britain is still exorbitant compared to Europe (The Telegraph)
July 20, 2023
"As well as showing a rise in asking prices, AirDNA data suggest that, compared with this time last year, bookings already made for July, August and September showed a rise in demand. But this has been outstripped by an increase in supply, which means that overall occupancy levels are down significantly from the highs of 2021. In other words, there may be more people booking, but there are even more places for them to stay. Hence owners with empty properties this summer are having to offer late discounts to fill them."
