Demand for short-term rentals in Los Angeles is soaring ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, with AirDNA reporting a 56% increase in average booked rates for the U.S. vs. Paraguay match at SoFi Stadium. As of mid-December, more than 70% of listings near the venue were already booked. AirDNA Chief Economist Jamie Lane noted that rates are being pushed higher by limited lodging options and early traveler interest. Lane also expects a sharp rise in listings early next year, mirroring the surge seen before the 2024 Olympics in Paris. AirDNA has launched World Cup bootcamps to help new hosts prepare.
